Katherine Vondy
Katherine Vondy is a writer and director whose credits span film, theater and literature. Her award-winning short film The Broken Heart of Gnocchi Bolognese screened at festivals worldwide, and her full-length play The Fermi Paradox received the Davey Foundation Theatre Grant. Kat’s screenplays have been finalists in the Warner Brothers TV Writers Workshop, Film Independent Episodic Lab, and Orchard Project Episodic Lab. Her stageplays have been selected for development with the Salt Lake Acting Company, Paper Wing Theatre, Campfire Theatre Festival, and The Vagrancy, where she currently leads their writers’ group for new play development.
Recent directing work includes projects in collaboration with Thymele Arts, CreatorUp!, Lost Moon Radio, All Terrain Theater, and Fresh Produce'd LA. The recipient of writing residencies from Wildacres, Starry Night, the Vermont Studio Center, and the HBMG Foundation, her work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and has appeared in numerous publications. She earned a BA from Amherst College and an MFA in Film and Television Production from the University of Southern California.
